Castle

Castle is a new witty crime drama show, pitting a crime/horror novelist (Nathan Fillion) with a straight-laced NY policewoman (Stana Katic). Rick Castle, the titular character, started as a lothario, wacky novelist with writers block, after killing off his main character. When Detective Beckett pulls him in to help on a case where the killer is mimicking Castle's books, Castle finally finds his muse. With a little push from his political connections, Beckett is stuck with him shadowing her while he researches his character for his next books. Although the show has just started, Beckett has already started to warm her at-first frosty demeanor towards Castle, and we're starting to move towards the important tension bringer that helps keep a show such as this fresh, the sexual tension.
Other important characters include Rick's mother, Martha, a Lucille Bluth-esque good time girl, as well as a daughter from one of his previous marriages, Alexis- a level headed girl who at first seemed to be nothing like her father, but her humour and intelligence matches his perfectly. The relationships between these family members are a huge enjoy-factor of the show, and these along with the Castle/Beckett relationship are a perfect addition to the crime-of-the-week storylines.
